SDC's Policies and Procedures 2010-2011

Weather
During inclement weather SDC will follow the Renton School District Closure Policy: if the Renton School's are closed, so is SDC.

Tuition
Tuition is based on a school year (September-June) session fee, not by the class. The session fee is divided into ten equal payments to be made on the first day of each month from September-June. Monthly payments remain the same regardless of school closures, holidays or attendance. Tuition is due on or before the first day of each month regardless of attendance. Payments recieved after the 7th of the month will be assessed a $15 late fee.  We do not bill unless an account becomes delinquent. Accounts with a balance 30 days past due will be subject to 20% finance charges which will be reassessed every 30 days. There will be no credits or refunds for missed lessons. We do not prorate classes. There will be a $25 charge for NSF or redeposited checks.

Performance Opportunities
Our year end production is scheduled for Saturday, June 4th, 2011 with dress rehearsal on Friday, June 3rd, 2011; at the Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien. All students who participate in the year end production are required to have their costume(s) ordered through the center. Payment of the $75.00 costume deposit is required no later than January 23rd, 2011 for participating students.  Students ordering after the first order is placed will need to pay additional shipping charges or add-on fees. Video taping by audience members will not be allowed at the June production; a professional will be hired to record the June production and DVD's will be made available for purchase. Video taping of the Winter Holiday Gala will be allowed. Adult "Drop-In" students are not eligible to participate in any of SDC's Productions unless a recital fee is paid.

Commitment to Attend/Absence Policy
Students should consistently attend class. This commitment is necessary to achieve the greatest benefit of dance instruction for every student in the class. If a student is going to be absent please call and let the center know. If a student misses two or more classes in a row without calling the center, we reserve the right to fill the space. Students who habitually miss class may not be eligible to participate in performances and will not progress thru levels as quickly. Students should be 5-10 minutes early when arriving for class in order to have ample time to dress, fix hair and use the restroom. Students who late for class by 15 minutes or more should be prepared to sit and observe the class for the day.

Dropping a Class
Students will be billed and charges will continues to accrue on accounts until written notification is received by SDC that a student will be withdrawing from a class. Once a student withdraws from a class, his/her space may be filled and may not be available if the student chooses to re-enroll.
